The collection consists of two limericks handwritten on a single sheet of paper, with an envelope addressed to Louis Untermeyer postmarked 28 June 1964. The first limerick, beginning "There was a young lady named Choate," is signed by Smith; the second, describing "a young writer named Smith," is attributed to Anon.
